Highlights from Episode 31
In this episode we answered the following questions:
Question 1: Yvonne (London) – “How do you market an app?”
Juliet emphasized the importance of having a website for your app. Websites are not passé as Yvonne had posed. Juliet said that there are more businesses developing apps, but they need websites to market those apps since people still use the web when looking for things. Although things are constantly changing online, websites are still the main way that you need to market your practice or business.
She also pointed out that email marketing is still a key way to build relationships with people and to “sell” things. Email marketing, social media, webinars and doing talks in your community are great ways to market.
Question 2: John Harrison, Cincinnati, Ohio www.johnharrisoncounseling.com – “How do I get started creating passive income?”
Both Juliet and Clinton stated that true passive income doesn’t exist. Although there are some people who have income from products and programs, they have usually worked hard to create the product or program and build an audience. In addition, there is always work to do on an ongoing basis. So in the true sense of the word, income is never is completely “passive.” Juliet said that you have to think more about creating multiple streams of income, as opposed to passive income.
Juliet added that if you are going to create a product or a program you have to focus on building your email list from day one. You need to create content on a regular basis and build your audience, as well as keep in touch with them.
Question 3: Dawn Vincent, From our Facebook Group – “What are the best stock photo sites to use?”
Juliet advised to Google “free stock photos” to find some sites. Some examples mentioned were Dollar Photo Club , Canstockphoto, graphicstock.com and Flickr Creative Commons. You have to check the licensing on these sites because some of the photos are not allowed to be used for commercial purposes.
