Highlights from Episode 4
Question 1: Treona – “What are the best ways to drive traffic to my website?”
Doug: “Where should I start marketing?”
Michelle: “Where should I spend money on marketing”
Clinton responded to these questions by saying that once your website is up, you need to start marketing. One of the best things you can do is to create valuable content. Juliet added that content marketing *is* online marketing whether it’s blogging, creating a podcast, or sharing content on social media. Before you choose methods of content marketing, you’ll need to create a marketing strategy and a plan.
Question 2: “How can I stay competitive when new therapists are continuously coming online and sometimes charging less than I do?”
Juliet responded to this question by saying that you can never be complacent when it comes to marketing. Your business can be fine for years or even decades and then clients or customers a can drop off. You need to keep marketing and when things change, Clinton added that you may need to reposition yourself in the market. For example, if you are older and more experienced as a therapist, you might have to position yourself that way. Many people will pay more if they think they are getting a better service.
Question 3: Karen – “How come people rank higher than me in Google?”
Clinton responded to this question by mentioning that there are only 10 places on any page of Google’s search engine results and there are over 200 factors that they use in ranking sites. It’s very difficult to get on the page of Google’s search page results if you are not there already. Unless you are going to hire a specialist and/or work vigorously for months or years to boost your rankings, it is probably best to focus on other methods of marketing.
